By Supporting Delco’s 2023 Democratic Candidates, you can

Help us Continue Our Fight

A Government That Works For Us

For too long, our government was used as a subsidiary of the Republican Party, where jobs, no-bid contracts, and perks are doled out to a well-connected few. Since taking office, we have ended this corruption, and this year we must once again vote to ensure our government works for all of us.

Together, we can keep transparency and accountability in our government by:

  • Barring practice of paying for full-time benefits for part-time employees whose jobs are awarded on the basis of party loyalty

  • Hiring government workers based on their qualifications and experience, not their party affiliation

  • Enacting meaningful ethics reforms, including full disclosure of campaign contributions by entities bidding for county contracts

  • Holding and scheduling public meetings during convenient times to accommodate residents who work

  • Posting all of the supporting documents for our meetings and detailed financial documents online

Revitalize our Communities

Not once since gaining Democratic control has Council raised our taxes. Our valuable tax dollars should continue to be put to use improving the quality of life for Delaware County residents.

We can improve the quality of life for Delaware County residents by:

  • Strengthening job training programs and developing pipelines between education and jobs

  • Uniting the efforts of our economic development authorities and commissions behind a single strategic vision

  • Utilizing state and federal resources to invest in underserved communities

  • Supporting our municipalities in maximizing their efforts and investments in their communities

Strengthen Public Health

Delaware County was the largest county in the state and the only county in the region without a health department. Thanks to the hard work of our Democratic incumbents, Delaware County opened its own Department of Health in 2022!

We can improve the public health of our communities by:

  • Aggressively seek state and federal support to help the county invest more resources into public health initiatives

  • Improving collaboration, coordination, and communication amongst to increase awareness of public health programs and initiatives

We are committed to ensuring Delaware County is a safe, diverse, and prosperous

community where everyone, no matter where they come from, how they look, or whom they

love, are entitled to enjoy the promise of justice for all.

Over the last four years we have :

  • District Attorney Stollsteimer has created a partnership between law enforcement and the community in the City of Chester that has reduced gun homicides by 60% over the last two years

  • Created a Child Abuse & Exploitation Task Force in the DA’s office to better protect our children from predators

  • Taken back management of our county jail from an out-of-state for-profit corporation

  • Initiated criminal justice reforms that have reduced our jail population by 30% without risking public safety

  • Created a countywide reentry coalition to help our residents returning from incarceration not reoffend

Improve Public Safety and Ensure Justice

Preserve Our Environment

A clean environment is vital to a good quality of life. 80% of Delaware County residents support making the protection of open space a priority. In June of 2021, our County Council confirmed the acquisition of the 213-acre Don Guanella site, creating the largest protected space owned by the county.

We need to commit to preserving our environment by:

  • Investing more in open space protection, trail development, and park improvement

  • Supporting and properly funding County Planning Department proposals

  • Establish a sustainable and stable Greenways Grants program that provides funding to almost every municipality
